why are the AKs the "Dark Side" when the ARs are the "Black Rifle"?

Yesterday, I ordered a Yugo RPK kit from Centerfire Systems Inc.  Talked to Pam (very nice lady) and it is on it's way!

Next paycheck I am ordering a DCI Yugo receiver from NoDak Spud, and plan on doing a u-drive screw assembly. So, I'll be ordering the screws from the EE thread as a set.

So, once I get the kit in, I'll post pics in the Yugo area, then I plan to photo the build process.

Anyone have any suggestions for refinishing the build when it's done?  Just get a basic parkerizing done, or do a "cold blue" on just the receiver myself?

Bore condition????????????

It would suck to have a shot out barrel the Yugos dont chrome-line and were usually to busy shooting to clean.  Also if you are into that type of thing thier is almost certainly blood on your gun if it predates early 90s.  I have buddy who fought thier for 4 years, he is from what is now Croatia.

Well, I've heard nothing but good stuff about CSI....and I got a hand pick kit looking for a good barrel/bore condition, not concerned about the stock/wood conditiuon...scratchs and engravings add character.  We'll see what she looks like next week.
