Has anyone heard if the ATF has ruled yet?

My dealer has one but I don't want to buy one and then have to give it right back.

Man, its not good if you were waiting for a 12.

The latest shipment of RAA imported S-12's all came in with 17.2" barrels, essentially making it an SBS.
Its barely 18.5" with the choke screwed on.

There is a lot of speculation as to what the ATF ruling will be but nobody seems to know for sure.

RAA won't answer the phone or email.

I have been waiting months for one and my dealer has one in stock but I hate to spend the money on one just to have to give back or get my door kicked in.

Put a comp or brake on it permanently problem solved.  How expensive can it be to fashion something on the end of the barrel?

Everyone involved knows about it now. I've received two different e-mail replies from RAAC. It's going to be solved soon. They're just waiting on the "official" ATFE ruling. I'm just hoping (praying) they'll let us fix them ourselves (or by your personal gunsmith) rather than have to ship them back in. Mine's all stripped apart, rivets drilled out, holes welded shut......................ARGH! All completely legal now BUT............I don't want to have to ship it back.

What a cluster fk..........................

Are they thinking about classifying them as destructive devices?

Tromix has a badass Saiga 12 flash suppressor for $50.

Weld the damned choke on, and be done with it..

No. They came in as illegal NFA items with 17.2" barrels.

Prob correct. You can weld a can on a Krink to get 16" and not need a SBR form, but the ATF may not "interpret" so kindly on hi-cap shot guns.

Why would the ATF not interpret so kindly on a hi-cap shotgun?

Ok, so this is how its going to be.

forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=9816

The way I read it is that they all have to go back to RAA to be made compliant or be verified that they are compliant.

I can already see the ugly welds.

I'm going to be handling THIS myself so it's NOT ugly and then send it to them for confirmation. I'll give 'em a call in a little while to make sure but it doesn't SOUND like it's going to be too big of a deal.

We shall see.....................

Thats definitely the best way but I can't find a dealer to sell me one now so that I can take the same approach.

Anyone have a pic of the gun in question?

I'd shoot a pic of mine for you but I just mailed it back to RAAC in Indiana this morning. I was almost done doing the 922 conversion too. Arrgh! Anyway........a stripped receiver/barrel combo is all I sent them with the standard 0,0 choke silver-soldered on making the barrel 18 3/8" long.

Any of you folks who have these please morphodites send them back NOW. They aren't going to start the "verification process" and return shipping until they have all units accounted for at their warehouse (or so I was told).

The sooner you ship them back..........the sooner we'll get them back and things are back to normal.

Stock RAAC photo...........except mine had an adjustable sight rib/bar instead of fixed sights like the pic.............
