Is that the uber-tactical see-saw (or the teeter-totter variant) AK?

That 100 round mag was only made in prototype form, from what I have heard, around 5 total. There were some brought into this country, but are only showed off at shows. As rare as they are, the lucky owners would never part with them.

Yeah they are definately a prototype. I saw one on display at a local fun show in Illinois. Looks crudely made (don't know if it was original or not)

Large capacity semi-round magazine. The cartridges are arranged in double-row checkerboard order. There is a loop in the magazine front part to couple it with the barrel. In the rear part there is a follower with a catch for the magazine release lever.
Characteristics
Magazine capacity, rds 100
Weight, g 1,100
Height, mm 240
Lenght, mm 495

As to why it was made...it's the Russians.
They always try that kind of crazy shit...like flying tanks and stuff.
Psychicly controlled giant squid and what not.
Tesla coils an' shizzle.

I have seen them for the SKS at the Denver gun shows. I bought a 40rd SKS mag from the guy but it had to be modified by prying and filing it down to feed properly.

I didn't buy one of them because it didn't seem very practical. Might buy one for the hell of it next time. I think they were selling for around $30-40

Hey Cav, I saw something like that at the last Puyallup fun show, but I didn't know you were interested, so I shined it on. Next show I'll pay more attention.

Yes, its a one off Russian prototype.. Same one in the St.Petersburg museum is in every book and website.

I have heard of some American made ones, but would probably be some POS.

There wasa guy selling mags like that at a gun show here. They only went up to 90 rds though They were just normal mag well bodies connected together with a longer spring from what I could tell. Since anything over 30 is illegal here there isn't much point.

I suspect on the russian one, the lug on the front of the mag is gone.  That would allow you to hook it over the end of the barrel, and pull the mag straight up into the magwell.  Between the mag catch, and the loop on the other end, I'm sure it would stay just fine.

Some nice guy on this site gave me this one;

I have no idea if it works or not, or how many rounds it holds.  Looks like it was made from 2 or 3 mags.

Isn't that kind of what drums are for.......unless that is somebody's idea of a dual function device: it's a sling AND a 120 round mag!!

i know a guy who has 1 but the basterd wants 300 + for it
i think they are 120 rounds not shure tho it was made by the russians as an experimental mag
that they never actually made in any large #'s

kinda like the 90deg ak barrel
