ok well the story goes theres this dumbass i work with... dumbass is deffently the word.. he found out that i own an 'AK' my WASR-10 and came up to talk.. the extent of the conversation ended up being like
"blah blah, Yeah well i own an M-16 and its a POS, i would sure love to get an AK..
You mean an AR-15 right??..
no no no its a M-16 i payed around 2500 for it a few years ago from so in so (the FFL that works with me that i do transfers through)..
well is it full auto??
Yeah its full auto.
*jokingly said* well heck i'll trade you my Semi AK for it..
Really?!?! i would love to are you sure...
Are you sane?

well after that i went and talked to the FFL and mentioned the conversation.. he basicly said the guys a dumb ass and its an AR..

Should i do the trade? even if this is a Post Ban AR its worth doubble what the wasr is at the bottom rung..and if it is a LEGAL M-16 this would damn near be a crime.. i dont know if i could feel even remotely good about trading him a $300 WASR for a 10K M-16..

I love my WASR But...

Either way its a deal and a half.

I would say that any functioning example of an AR-15 is worth more money than a Romanian WASR-10. I notice you have a pretty nice optic on your gun, keep it...Trade the gun for the AR, and buy a brand new WASR...you would then have a new to you AR, and new WASR for $350-$400 Bucks...you could go ahead and upgrade to a better version of AK, and still be doing better...Good-Luck.

Sure why not double your money.  I would definately verify it is in fact a AR not an M16.

Go for it!  Then I'll trade you my barely fired WASR10 and $100 for it

The only downside is what will happen when the dumbass figures out the he got the short end of the deal. If he has the ability to make serious problems for you, you might be buying yourself more trouble than it is worth.  If not go for it. It's a great deal.

I'd do it, assuming its a decent brand

Well, I'm garunteeing you that the gun is a semi-auto and I know nothing of either of you, your guns, or yourselves. Unless it's an illeagal conversion.

But still....heck yeah! You may find you like the AR better and if you don't, you can trade it and get an Arsenal or something. Go for it!

Why haven't you done it yet

Do it, unless it is a Hesse/Vulcan it will be worth it.

Id say keep it. WASR's make awesome beater/truck AK's. I keep buying them and trading them and regreting it. Its nice to have a gun as capable as a WASR in 7.62 that I could care less about. It gets used like it was intended to and I have a blast with it....and I don't care if it gets scratched knocking around in the back of my Renegade. Keep your WASR and save for or build an AR. This guy is a "fuck-tard" and I wouldn't trust anything from a meat head like that.....unless it was a smokin deal like a Colt 6920 or something, then use your best judgement. My vote is keep your WASR and buy an AR later....I have since moved onto "nicer" AK's or atleast more expensive ones, and I miss the days of reckless abandon with my WASR's.

What Jicky said.

Make the deal, get a good estimate on the value of the AR, sell it, and buy 2 more WASRs or better yet a top of the line AK like an ARSENAL.

Exactly what I was thinking!  Trade him quick - you never know when another one of P.T. Barnum's boys will come along again.

I'd have to see the AR 1st. Could be an old Olympic Plinker & not be worth trading for.
If a quality brand go for it. Sell it consignment and you ought to be able to get at least $700 for it.

everyone just confermed my initial thoughts...

i'll go ahead and get a picture of it without the optic and offer it up to him.. of course i will need to see the AR before the trade and get an idea of what level its at... i figure even if its a post ban bushmaster i can still get 700 for it and pick up an Arsenal or just keep it around and buy anouther WASR..

Thanks for the Input guys...

*BTW the Kobra is a Weaver mount so i can put it on an AR*

As long as it's not an Olympic Arms Plinker Model, I'd do the trade.

If it is a legal full auto trade it for a legal full auto ak. If not trade any way and buy another 300 WASR.
