I fail to see the problem.

Has a history of violence, is a druggie and bipolar.

Wow. Having flashbacks of my childhood. Caught with a .22, and rambo knife....

Glad I got busted. Turned my ass around. Had to go live in ahome...then I thankful for having real parents...

Kid's need ass whoopins....

or the Marines

I had both. And my kids have great manners, and love school.....hope it lasts.

Put me squarely in with the folks that believe this to be right.
We have way too many examples of unmonitored and un-checked kids going over the top and making life bad for many people.
If more parents did their job correctly, we might not have so many restictive laws from big brother.

I agree he shouldn't have had it.  Just hate it when an AK is in an article and they call it  a 'machinegun'.
Sorry for the dupe. It was new to me.

Well, I'm sure he broke a slew of laws including possession of an unregistered rifle.  Canada has had mandatory registration of all firearms since Jan. 1, 2003.  You cannot register a rifle until you are 18.  He would also need an additional permit since AK's are considered 'restricted' firearms.

Oh, 17 y/o:  his mother's house, her rules.  If she doesn't want him to have the rifle then too bad for him.
