Today was a good day.  My 2 SLR105's got here from Jnewt. The first one is a SLR105a1 that Josh put a Tula made AKS side folder on.  Mmmmmm!  Good stuff!

The second is a post ban 105 I got through Josh.  I had planned to have him Krink it but with his backlog held off.  Now I think I'll just hold it in reserve.   Gotta be ready for the Chinese, zombie, refugee hordes/invasion.

John, my computer-fu sucks!  I cannot for the life of me post picks on this or any other site.  I can't make my computer cut and paste URL's,play sounds, nothing.   If only computers were as durable, reliable and easy to use as an AK.

Josh also sent me a few hundred rnds of Wolf.  I think tomorrow is a good day burn it up.

firedog51d,

Was there any reason you had a Tula stock installed instead of the Izhmash?

How can you tell the difference between the Tula and Izhmash buttstocks?

Well, it was my understanding that the Izhmash steel skeleton folders have a smooth edge. These are the ones seen on the AKS-74 rifles and also are pretty much identical to the Bulgarian versions. The Tula are often referred to as the "rolled-edge" buttstocks and are usually exclusive to AKS-74U.

I think.

John, the diffirence between the two is that the Tula have slightly rolled in edges where as the Ishevsk made stocks have no roll.  The are a basic U shape.  BTW thanks for postingthe pics!  I'd do the little smilies with the beers... but... well... the whole computer skill thing.

Thekater,  Basically that is what Kvar was selling at the time.  I bought 2 thinking one would go on a AKS74U which were all Tula built rifles.  Some day this will get a set of Soviet markings.  I'll have it remarked as Tula built rifle.  Tula goodness.

Josh did an excellent job on this.  The pics don't show it but all the pins and side folding hardware are the correct light grey phosphate color.

Some more editing- I have some plum furniture to put on this, working on laminated set of handguards too.
