What's the deal with the barrel ban, that's supposed to happen the beginning of the new year?

it's all confusing now..........ATF will sign off on a importation form 6 if the importer can justify that the barrel can be used to make a weapon that can be imported, even though it can also be used to make a rifle that can't be imported.   The trick is for the importers to get smart with their form 6 justifications.  The importers also have to pass on to the third party down the line....ie the actual customer, that the duel use barrel "has to be used for an importable rifle style" and not for a non-importable

So... you just have to state that yes, you will use the barrel in a firearm that has the required US parts?

I'm wundering if it will be legal to build a 922R "assault weapon" as well?

If it has ten or less imported parts is it called 922R compliant, or 922R exempt?
Compliant woulds meen importable with 100% imported parts, right?

I think the spirit of it all is that the importer must show one way the barrel can be used to make an importable rifle style, even though the other dozen ways to use it with other parts kits is in a way to make it non-importable, and it will be agreed the barrel can be imported....it seems the tracking of it all actually doesn't go past the form 6 and no body cares what you do with the barrel if you comply with 922r
