See #(4) below. Trunnions are one 0f the 20 "imported" parts comprising an assault weapon.

(14) Disconnectors
(15) Buttstocks
(16) Pistol grips
(17) Forearms, handguards
(18) Magazine bodies
(19) Followers
(20) Floorplates

As mentioned above by the Duke, That is not a trunnion, and pistols do not fall under 922(r) anyway, meaning no parts count to worry about.

I know pistols don't fall under 922r, but what is it if it's not a trunion?  It serves the same purpose as the trunion on an HK type rifle, i.e., the mounting interface between breech and receiver, right?  I'm not arguing, just asking what is a trunion (mounting block) in ATF-speak?

note the word REAR.
AS I UNDERSTAND IT.....The front one IS a trunion as listed in the parts, the REAR is not and doesn't meet your definition.  and is not one of the listed parts.

you mean a company would actually be deceptive and misleading to sell an unnecessary product?

maybe they're just unknowledgable of the products they sell.  

either way, it speaks volumes about their company.
