A pic challenge with a theme,"AKs and Equipment".I'd like to see some pics of one,or more,of YOUR AKs and at least two pieces of equipment to follow your theme.Your theme could be a recreation of a command post in a battle zone,a recreation of the inside of a check point in a third World Country........................................use your imagination!The equipment could be anything from ,inert,ordnance to Soviet hats or Iraqi berets...................................whatever goes with your theme.
Rules; 1.must be your AK. 2.must have at least two other pieces of equipment. 3.limit of three pics entered per person 4.Please NO BOTD[babe of the day] type pics,we may do that later! Time limit will be Friday morning December 23,poll will run from noon on the 23rd until 9;00 PM Dec 26. Prize;I will pay for the winners "Bronze Membership"for a year,if the winner is already a "Team Member",I'll pay for their next years "Bronze Membership". I'll pick the best five and,through a poll,the members will pick the winner. I'm disqualified,but here is an example edited to add;I'm the only one dis-qualified.This challenge is open to the Site Staff and Mods!  The five nominee's have been selected,damn it was hard to just pick five!I ended up picking my two favorites and drawing the other three out of a hat!Good Luck Guys!

Tag and a question...I assume it is alright ot have people in the photos, i.e. in costume or unfiorm?
In relation to that questions, I assume this will not be a "cheesecake" photo contest with the most scantily clad woman with an AK automatically winning/going to the final four? [eta] I apologize for even having to ask the second question, but BOTD stuff seems to flood out if you don't define rules in advance... |

Only one I got thats even close. Cant touch the ones above, but its mine!
Russian Field Jacket accquired via a Navy officer from a Russian soldier during joint peace keeping in North Africa, and cover from the same. Bulgy krink, russian furniture and pistol grip.

OK, here's my FINAL three entries.
 Enjoy them, even if they DON'T win a thing............. A late 1980's AKS-74 folder w/appropriately related Soviet internal and external Passports, hand grenades, mag pouch and mags, non-import stamped 1979 dated Izhevsk Makarov, holster and military belt and buckle and"Gorod" camo jacket w/ Vityaz patches and badges. >>  A favorite of "private security forces" throughout Russia, a Saiga 410K w/ "Non-government SECURITY" schofield camo jacket, a 10rd mag, Barnaul slugs and a Makarov >>  An East German MPi-KMS (with correct markings), a 1963 dated E.G. Makarov and E.G. belt and buckle and a "rain pattern" camo jacket and warsaw pact hand grenade.  |

I bet it's one of the 10 round VEPR mags that fit inside a fake drum. There was a Russian member who posted in the Russian AK's forum with pics of how his VEPR RPK came with a 10 round mag (limited by Russian law he said) hidden inside a fake RPK drum. If it is real, DROOL!!!! |

eodinert what kind of mag is that in your 74? A bulgy or Russian?
I spotted some more interesting stuff in those pics. I haven't seen one of those Ak lights in use by a Russian, and I wasn't sure if that was real Military issue or something else. Also it has the Sagia grip on it. I didn't think I'd like that but it looks cool and one last thing the bayonet doesn't have the fence clippers on it which I've never seen either. |

I've got two of those Izhmash Saiga pistol grips. Not only do they look cool, but they are the most comfortable pistol grips you can put on an AK in my opinion. Someone should make some U.S. made clones of these for us here in the states because mine took 16 months and $90 to get to me here in the U.S. |

Unfortunatly - You're right - it is a fake. It was me who posted recently about Vepr SOK-1V (semi-auto RPK-74 clone in .223). 1V had been shipped with ten-round mags only, including one fake "drum" mag - a reflection of current Russian gun laws. BTW I've never heared about Russian .223 or 5.45 drums - only 45rd box mags. Though we have here some 75rd drums for Saiga rifles but in 7.62x39 only. |
