I'm pretty new to AKs. I've got an Arsenal Sam 7 A1-R. I've put about 350 or so rounds through it so far. I'm getting about 2-3 inches at 50 yards and about 6 inches at 100 yards. Some if this is no doubt my getting used to the AK sights. (using Wolf HPs for ammo)
I'm wondering what is a good way that I can determine the actual accuracy capability of this rifle. I've looked at Freedomoptics.com and there are various optics available for the AK. I know for my AR if I use open sights I can shoot about 4 inches at 100 yards and using the Eotech I can cut that down to about 2 inches. I've been looking at perhaps getting a Kobra optic.
Question:
1. Is the Kobra a good, reliable, accurate sight for the AK? Does anyone notice tighter groupes when using this optic?
2. How are the side mounted foreign scopes that are sold on Freedomoptics? ie are they accurate, reliable, etc?
3. Is there any quality (in terms of accuracy) 7.62 ammo out there?
Thanks for the info.
