Just picked up this MAK 90 and I see where a weld was ground down off the FSB and this Comp/brake was installed.  It's a '94 unit and I'm wondering if this is a rethread barrel or what.

Anyone ever seen this type comp before?  I've never seen anything like it before.

Thanks

It resembles an RPK brake but the slots and holes are larger. If it is, I'd say it's a 14x1 lh thread. Madtechcool

It's just a chicom RPK brake/flash hider. I never knew who made them, we used to get them at funshows in the 90's for $5.00 ...

That is a Chinese RPK muzzle brake and you can get one here.

A lot of the 1993-94 imported MAK-90 rifles I have seen don't have the hole drilled in the front sight for the muzzle brake retaining pin. The barrels are 14mm in diameter but were never threaded.

I purchased one of these brakes from a fellow on Auction Arms. $15.00. He still has a couple listed for sale. Looks real nice on my NHM 91. Madtechcool
