I purchased this Maadi and am in the process of refinishing it. I think this board came to the conclusion that someone had built this up using chi parts on the maadi reciever. I noticed that the KNOX TN stamp has something else under it.

Anyone have any clue what it could be?

Looks like _______HS, NJ    ?

Most likely a Steyr import that was caught in customs after the 89 ban. .Then Intrac bought them up and give them the buthole treatment..

I could be mistaken, but the Steyrs were a one time import during the early 80s... I am not sure if they were a constant thing.

My guess it that the factory in Egypt was sitting on a bunch of leftovers and decided to send them over....
