I have a 5.45 Bulgie AK-74S that I really like. It's very light. I would like to remove the only "heavy" part that makes it front-heavy: the '74 muzzle brake. What kind of FSB should I get (and where) to have a threaded portion small enough to take these new AR15-style flash hiders like the ones SARCO has?

Thanks.

ETA---I know it won't be original then but I'm looking for practicality. "Shorter and lighter".

Just replace the 74 Brake with a Bulgy FH.   K-Var sells a few differant styles!

I put the Krinkov 4-Piece FH on my 74!!

+1, and you should be ashamed. Leave that alone.

just get a SAR2- no threaded barrel and the simple Romanian front site post................... but a 74 needs the 74 brake or is isnt a true 74.. just my  opinion...
