Russian like to call the AKS-74U by these nicknames

Ksyukha - sounding like a girl's name.

Suchok - means little bough

Suchka - meaning little bitch

Okurok - meaning cigarette butt

This topic has been bantered around for many years and even the most experienced
people would definitely shrug and say, "i'm not really sure..."

They do say that it is definately not of Russian origin.

So it was either made up by Afghans or Americans.

I think that it was prolly an Westerner....

The muzzle brake/Compensator

AKS-74U 5.45 × 39 mm, tanker's self-defense weapon, folding stock, short barrel, altered sight and gas mechanism, odd-looking flash suppressor device on the muzzle. Nicknamed the "Krinkov" after its designer. Very popular with Spetznaz (Russian Special Forces) troops as well as Russian law enforcement in Russia's large cities.

Where is this Krinkov guy now then?  Wonder if he had any hand in the 100 series?

The Krink is real good for "applying the lipstick."

Listen to the song on Ted Marshall's page.
