Just came back from the local gunshow, where in the past I've been buying 1000 round cases of Wolf 7.62x39 FMJ for $75-$85 (even last May it was only $80), today I was expecting that it might be in the $95 range, but I was shocked to find it $119!!!!  I didn't buy any and instead bought some at Cabela's for $98/1000.  I guess mailorder is worth it now.  The strange thing is that Wolf .223 and Wolf 5.45x39 were both the same price as always, ~$120/1000.

What happened?  This $44 jump in prices could not be due to just raising gas prices.

I doubt it, probably good old fashion supply and demand. Which is of course subject to where you live in this country.

You're best bet is the internet for constant AK ammo prices.

Wolf increased their prices on ammo awhile back guess the gun show sellors finally depleated all their stock at the old prices.

Supply and demand.

How much was shipping from Cabella's?

I went to the newly opened Cabela's store in Lehi, UT, so there was no shipping, just walked out with it.

Not to mention Wolf finally seems to have gotten rid of all their old green lacquer based stuff. The new stuff probably cost a few dollars more to produce.

Lesse, for AK ammo:

Last year, Wolf Bi-Metal = $76/1K
6 months ago, Wolf Bi-Metal = $82/1K, Wolf Copper = $95/1K
Two weeks ago, Wolf Bi-Metal = $139/1K, Cheetah Copper = $132/1K (1440 round wood case).

Yup, gone up. Still better than XM193 @ last purchase price of $90/500.

I remember buying loafs of bread for 2 for a dollar and now they cost a $1.50 each. S&D is another part. Today I saw somethin on TV about Russia trying to get in the World trade stuff like the rest of the countries. I hope it works out then, we might see some good stuff again.
