I'm looking to get a AK-74, with all the goodies: 74 break, bayo lug, and a folding stock either a skeleton or a full folding stock.

What do they run? Who should I get it from?

BTW I'm not really 100% on a folding stock, So I have been giving arsenal a look. I'm not really into buying a kit and reciever then sending it off an waiting to have it built. I'm kinda impatient with my toys

Wasn't there talk about Arsenal Inc making AKS-74's out of the SLR 105 later on?

Just to start the ball rolling, Atlantic Firearms has a ORF/Bulgarian AK-74 side-folder like you described for $699.

Hey Jake, I have an ORF side folder AK-74 built on an Ohio Ordnance receiver..........I think those are built on the same or the Global 1.0mm receivers.........

They're available on both Ohio Ordnance and Armory USA receivers.  I don't own one yet.  (I squandered my gun budget for the next couple months on a Yugo underfolder.)

It's either between a 74 like that or an Arsenal milled 5.56

I wouldn't hold my breath on an SLR105A1 side folder, I'd go with the milled SAM5
I would pass on the OOW receiver, it was all we had for a while but is now obsolete with the Armory and Ewbangs Gen 2

I'm leaning towards another arsenal anyway after my last SAM7 I'm kinda hooked.

I dont see the SLR05A1 on thier website?

Thanks templar I really wanted a side folder, but I might as well, get the full stock arsenal rifle and put the russian side folder on it in the future. Thanks again Templar.

jnewt will do the conversion i think, but its pricey. When the 105 thread went up early on it was an option, but its no longer there. You could check with him.

It doesnt make much sense anymore to have either a fixed stock, or folding stock 74 built off a kit, given the 105 pricing. Glad i got mine built earlier this year when they were relatively cheap, but i may be drooling a bit when the factory folders finally make it to the market.

My advice on the kit builds is to be careful. There are smiths of questionable ability and reputation cranking out hundreds of low-grade '74s. Elite FireArms comes to mind. Ask the vendor who buo,t them. RedJacket and Vector seem to have good reps, as well as InRange and ORF.

You can always buy a converted SLR-105 with accessory and bayo lug from AKUSA for around $850. That should do you up perfectly for the fixed-stock version.

Then again, for a mere $1600 or so you can buy a perfect AK-74M clone from Marshall Arms...

You could also get one of these kits and have it built up by a good smith, a reconditioned folder for $279 + $100 for US parts and $300 or so in labor and shipping.
