%x may be a little high when you consider that ACOG's are 4x and most AR people consider that optimum (I think??). A variable 1-4x I think is the best option.

Taipan pretty much nailed it, although a 5X is ok. Most "combat" optics don't go over 4X. The Brits and US Marines settled on 4X.

My ACOG is the TA11, which is 3.5x, and I like it alot. The ones the Marines went with is a 4X.
