Not a whole lot. The 7.62x39mm round doesn't depend on fragmentation to work, it just keeps pushing through.
US commercial soft points like the Winchester and the Federal are probably better loads for hordes of flesh eating zombie looters.......but Yugo M67 hardball is pretty well regarded and isn't really velocity dependent.
The Krink style flash suppressors are also boosters which aid the function of the rifle with such a short barrel.
Besides, I want to be there when you let a mag go at KC's and the flash sets the overhang on fire...............
