I have a Mak90 which I believe was imported before Nov 30 1990.  If I read it right this makes it exempt from 922r (assuming it is pre Nov 1990).

The guy who sold it to me said it was an early one with a "preban" receiver.  Bayonet lug ground off, no cleaning rod, but barrel threaded all the way to the end.

I think if it says mak 90 on it it's a post ban and 922 would apply...

I believe the Chinese AW ban went into effect in 1989.Is your MAK 90 one of the "Line Out"models?

Sorry, hate to sound like a noobie, but what is line out?

That's what I'm getting at.  I think this gun was already assembled, then had the stock switched and bayo lug ground off.  Looks like extra numbering may have been stamped on receiver.

I guess what I really want to know is:

1. Can I legally put a pistol grip on without the need for several other US made parts? (or would a "line out" gun be considered the same as others?)

2. Since the the barrel is threaded can I attach a muzzle brake? If so, any recommendations?

Chinese pre-ban guns seized by Customs on the dock upon their arrival, later, well after the import ban, released by customs with the stipulation they be modified to sporter configuration.A thread protector was tack welded to the muzzle, the bayo lugs ground and fit with thumbhole stocks. The reciever markings were "Lined out" and the trunnion was re-stamped.Here is a pic of mine.

No, nothing is scratched out like that.

Last question. Since apparently 922r applieshinking.gif, anyone recommend a good place for US made floorplates and followers?
