Specifically 5.45x39. Looking at possibly making a trade and after looking around a bit on the web I don't really see any Milsurp and the rest is mostly silver bear. What is the going price for this AK ammo? Who sells it and mags and "stuff"? I have no problem getting 7.62x39 at decent prices and milsurp is cheap [yes, I know it's corrosive] Do they even sell milsurp in this cal? Thanks all.

No surplus in 5.45x39mm that I know of.

The Portugese 7.62x39mm is not corrosive, but I think the Yugo stuff in the stripper clips is. And the Portugese stuff is cheap, too.

Back to 5.45, the only stuff I've bought so far has been Silver Bear FMJ, but wolf also makes it in FMJ and SP versions, both with 60 grain bullets. Sometimes people have the stuff in the 'Barnaul' boxes.

Generally, the 5.45 isn't any more expensive than the 7.62 or 5.56, about $100 for 1000 rounds. Silver Bear is a little more. Mags are easy to find at gun shows and through online suppliers, and the East German bakelites are cheaper than 7.62 steel mags.

I while back, somebody posted about getting 7n6, but I don't know if it ever happened.

At the volume they would of had to have it imported if it was here, it would be all over for sale.

The Port. ammo is not corrosive but in my SLR-101 it was VERY unconsistent! Silver bear got groups half the size!!! Even wolf beat it...

Only 5.45mm I've seen is the Barnual, Silver Bear, Wolf and years ago the 70 grain Uly.
I've seen Romanian 5,45mm, can't remember the weight though. I read somewhere that for
some reason real Russian 7n6 can't be imported directly from Russia. It'd have to come out
of another country.

ETA: There's the German 5.45mm but its expensive. I forget the name right now...

Is there anything wrong with www.ammoman.com ? I've seen them list all kinds of goodies on their web site including FREE shipping.  (originaly found them while looking for .50 bmg)

Nothing is free.

He adds to the price of his ammo.

Example.  XM-193 is around $200 plus shipping  for 1000 rounds from most dealers.  Ammoman sells it for $230 with "free" shipping.
