I'm still new to AKs.  I've got a Sam 7 for my "good" AK.  Now I've seem to have acquired some kind of addiction.  I'm looking at getting a cheap AK side folder.  I'm not looking at getting anything attractive or extrmemely accurate.

Here's what I want:  A side folder which will be reliable ,with a scope mount for a red dot optic, in 7.62, threaded barrel.  Cheap as possible, preferabally around $400.

Question:  Is there an AK out there that will meet the above requirements?

Question:  Can I buy a WASR and buy an aftermarket stock for a side folder? (I've seen the WASRs for less than $350)   It seems that it is very hit and miss on whether you will get one with a canted sight or not.   Anywhere I can buy one that will probably NOT have a canted sight?

This is going to be a throw around pure performance weapon so I'm not looking looking for asthetics or perfection here, just function.

I think the best place to shop is the for sale forums.  I think that's where you'll find the best price.  Just be sure to ask the seller if the sight and gas block are canted.  Most sellers that I've dealt with are pretty honest.
