Which one on what rifle? Me personally I think the ultimak looks like crap on most rifles though it is damn nifty.

I assume you meant optics on AK style weapons.
I agree for the most part that they look silly, and probably don't work all that well either. But I don't mind the factory receiver side mount. |

I agree its a little un-sightly but its highly functional,positive locking and extremely durable.

I would have one on a fixed stock 5.45 or 5.56 just to have the option of adding a red dot
