What type of trigger pull are you seeing with the Tapco G2 FCG on an AK?
My Vepr's 2-stage has a 4.5 lb 2nd-stage letoff and it's too light for my taste. There's also some noticeable trigger slap (yes its a Vepr and not a Century).

Does the Tapco G2 solve trigger slap?

I'd buy it from THEDUKERYAN, he's a good seller and for under 33$ shipped (For me) it's a pretty darn good deal.

that's an interesting price; does his website just need to be updated or what?  (hint:  34.99 + 3.85 shipping != under 33 bucks)

The G2 I put in my SAR 1 gives a rather long single stage pull.  Not bad and no slap.  I have read posts by those who talked of shortening the trigger stroke, but I don't mind having plenty of engagement.

Off topic but I don't want to start a new thread... Subject: G2 double hook fire control group, improving the action.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to make the G2 smoother and function nicer?   I've shot a Mak 90 and a G2 side by side.  The mak 90 has a much smoother tigger pull.

Comments anyone on how to improve the pull on a G2 Double hook?

If you want it to pull smoother, just polish the rubbing surfaces.  If you want to make it a two stage, just take a LITTLE at a time off the bottom of the disconnector until the disconnector hook contacts the hammer right before the hammer is released by the trigger hook.  When the disconnector hook contacts the hammer, the trigger pull will increase, giving the second stage.  I do this to all of mine because I don’t like to have a long pull with a surprise trigger release point.

Hey Ozzie!     Thanks bud!

I took the FCG apart and did what I Believe you suggested.  Dremmel polished the heck out of the contact surfaces of hammer.   Dremmel polished the double hooks, the underside of the hook that holds the hammer.

It is Very smooth pull now.  Maybe tooo smooth.  The pull weight was probably reduced by 30 or 40 %.  The trigger /hammer now snaps and doesn't grind during the pull.

I think I'm going to like it.  Will take it to the range this weekend and see how it is.  Hopefully I might even get tighter groups.

thank you for the help.

The Vepr's stock FCG has a Russian/foreign hammer which appears to be a fairly soft metal. After 1300+ rd it's already kind of deforming.

Hopefully the G2 I just ordered will work better - also at eliminating trigger slap, which I do get with the Vepr's stock 2-stage FCG.

I'll pass on the RSA adjustable FCG because it's $80+.
