I picked up a Tigr recently, had a Soviet military buttstock and it ran $1200.  I saw that one and you're right Josh, kinda pricey.

That doesn't look like the right furniture for a Tigr...

And yes, it's pricey.

Looks like the right furniture to me.  Might be chineese?  Just add muzzle brake and it LOOKS like a SVD.

Why can't (or don't) they import Tigrs any more? Aren't they 'sporting rifles'?

Yes, but they are not covered in the US-Russian arms agreement.. The ATF doesnt like them for some reason.. I know other importers have tried to import them from 3rd countries like Israel, Canada, and some others without any luck either.

The auction is a Tiger, though he does have the real military stock set.. The ones Andrei sells are modern "Izhmash custom shop" deals, and are not as nice.

I ordered (SOG actually had them in stock!) a PSL or Romak-3 or whatever you want to call it last friday. It's probably the closest I'll ever get to an SVD. If anyone has any tips on zeroing the scope properly, I'd appreciate it. I'd like to get the absolute best possible accuracy out of it, without reworking it. I know it'll never come close to my friend's Savage 110FP or a nice .308 AR, but it's slathered in gallons of 'cool factor'.
