They have listed the "stock" as an arm stock. If it has been BATFE approved as such or follows whatever guidlines are in place for such a thing, then it will still carry a pistol designation. Back in the 80's some manufacturers where trying to push these things but they never flew - popularity wise.

i'm gonna give him a call and let him know he needs to look up the definition of short-barreled rifle.
hopefully this is just a case of someone not realizing what it is they have, and the legal ramifications surrounding it. |

I wouldn't worry too much about it, If that tech-9 is anything like my buddies, It would be a stretch to call it a working weapon, it is more like a cool paper weight. You can't even fire a full mag without dumping in some oil into the bolt, usually jams on the 8-9 round. I have seen him clean that thing with-in a inch of it's life, oil it and still jams at least once a mag. the worst "pistol" I've ever seen.

Good point. I had a KG99 and had the same problems. Mine was a old movie gun which was kinda cool. I do have a little Tec 22 and love the thing. Its actually reliable and uses my 10-22 mags. I must of gotten lucky with that one because I havent heard the best reviews on them either. |
