I didn't see any "mid length" (ie AK-104) rifles there, just full length AK-74 types and shorty "Krinkov" types. Reverend: "Krinkovs" also use a combination FS/GB, though it's of a different type than that used on the AK-102/4/5. The Romanian AIR carbine uses yet another type of combo FSB/GB, but you don't see 'em very often. Thanks for the input. The AIR is one of the rifles I was thinking of but couldn't remember. Check out some of the stuff on the Arsenal defense page...Some very mean looking Krink type and other weapons.

No. Rifles with barrels shorter then 16" (SBR), even though allowed under the NFA are prohibited to be importer for Civilian use. K-var does sell the parts seperate though, so you can put together a project. |

Is it possible to remove the front threaded portion of this piece and just thread the end of the barrel using the more common 14mm thread size? |

Yes, it is possible...but the extended brake you need for the authentic AK-104 look from AK-USA (which costs $100 BTW!!!) has 24mm threads, you thread the barrel to 14mm threads. You can just get a 14mm to 24mm thread adaptor and make it work, but that doesn't make much sense. |
