They are adjustable..

I know that they are adjustable, I just measured the one on my SA-M5, it is only 42". The russian did make a longer one for the SVD, and maybe the RPK. DOes any one have an original Sovie tthat they can measure to check.

I have not checked the Soviet ones against others, but all the Soviet ones are the same length.
