Yugo's are the heaviest variant I've picked up. I'm thrilled for what they are. I have a folder kit and fixed. They aren't perfect, but not bad for 110 for a fixed and 139 for a folder.

I'd buy one, but the condition of the bore on the fixed stock kits seems like too much of a gamble.

Yeah, I don't get it.. all the M92's came in practically NIB.. while most of the m70's, the shipping box seems to have more rifling...... |

These kits are from rifles issued to Serbian militia during the last Civil War, which ended in 95. These militia were not disciplined, mostly rabble, and cleaning wasn't a high priority.
Yugoslavia is the only country I'm aware of that didn't chrome their bores. Add corrosively primed ammo and no maintenence, and you get sewer pipes for barrels. They are, literally, luck of the draw. Some people have gotten decent barrels, but there's a lot of shit out there too. |

I am just amazed Templar.. on how far the kits ranged between the M92 and the M70. I am guessing that the M92 was not a general issue weapon and that most of these were just sitting in crates?

I'd think the M92's were more of a police or special ops issue, and to regular Serbian Army vs. Bosnian Serb militia operating inside Bosnia, where the Serbian Army didn't, and also had more discipline. Beyond that, I don't think many M92's actually saw field issue, too specialized. |

The M92s were brand new weapons, straight from the factory. That expains the newness, and the much higher price.

Stottman pretty much nailed it down. The M92s were not mfg till they were sold, they were not surplus. The M70s were all surplus goods, used etc.

My dad got his fixed stock yugo today and it looks great. Stock is uncarved and barely damaged. Finish is pretty good except it has rust in some places. The barrel looked pretty good, but it hasnt been cleaned totally yet. He got a muzzle nut instead of a slant break. The turnnion has no numbers or anything, just blank.
