Well you know I'm old and slow and probably missed out ... Need a definitive guide to the AK and all the variants ... Up to date and accurate ...

There was a name tossed around ... Tokyo - Tokoi - Pie ???

I realize this was the rare one ... OOP I believe ... Any progress on locating some ?

The next best book is ???

Thanks ...

Yeah .... That's what I'm afraid of !!! ...

I've already got some answers that I don't like ... ie: $250.00 ..... Yikes !!!!!!

I would love to have the book and the knowledge it brings but ..... $250.00 worth ?

Most likely a good investment ...

ETA: I would rather give $50.00 tho ....

I hate to say this, but, check on eBay.You just never know.

I know its tough to shell out alot of dinero for a book,I always wanted the big FAL book but would'nt spring for the 99.00 price tag.It haunted me for years,I finally decided to get one and found out it was out of publication and the price was even higher.I got it anyway!

They are availible in Japan for $80.00, but would cost $20.00 to ship here...  My borther in law lives in Tokyo and can used ones there.

I emailed the author's asscociate and here is his response:

Dear John

I am Satoshi Maoka, a friend of Mr. Masami Tokoi,
I am very happy to hear that you have interested in Tokoi Book.
His Karashnikov book had already out of print in Japan,
Mr Tokoi said to me that the book have a lot of mistake, because he
wrote the book at the cold war.
He has got a lot of new information about Karashnikov rifles from
Rossia
and Eastern Europe.
But I don¡Çt know whether he has a plan to write new Karashnikov
rifles.
I am sorry I can not help you.
Mr. Masami Tokoi is in Europe now, he will back to Japan soon.
I have a schedule to have Tokoi¡Çs Seminar about U.S. Military weapons
at
July in Tokyo

Thank you.
Satoshi Matsuo

Big +1 on Collector Grade books-

I order them directly from the publisher.  (They're Canadian, eh?) No tax, no shipping charge, and they ship from a warehouse in Buffalo.

Great service-

Meh - that may be, but regardless of how it sounds, it's still spelled "Kalashnikov"...

It's just funny in a "I'm so ronery" kind of way...
