Okay guys, here's the deal-

I've had a WASR-10 for about 8 months now, and I love it. But, I've got a thing for Galils. Buying a real Galil is out of the question, so, I'ed like to modify my AK to be as close to a galil as I can get.

Here are the Ideas-

Folding Stock- This folder seems to be modeled after a Galil, my dad has one on his AK, I like it.

Galil Style Pistol Grip-   Dunno who makes this... is it just a Galil grip? would it fit a WASR?

As far as everything else goes, the placement of the gas tube, and the charging handle...I don't think I'm gonna mess with those, too expensive.... any other suggestions?

Is the Galil stuff interchangeable with Ak stuff...

Dust cover, pistol grip are my two concerns.

Epsilon- I hadn't thought of that before... but I don't have the $ for that... would be cool though.

Now, here is one on an AK, so they must be out there...

Any idea if it's just a Galil Pistol grip, put on an AK... do they mount the same way? If so, if they're interchangable.... then I'll just get a Galil grip

Hey teflon..Just a little advice, I wouldn't get the Tapco sidefolder..I was just kidding you when I posted that..I do have one on my rifle, but am presently trying to find the original wood stock..In my opinion, the Tapco folder is a little flimsy...not to put you down if you want it, but if I were you ,and you really must have a folding stock, I would go for the Romanian wire folder. It looks more authentic, and from other people on this board, it folds better, and is much stronger...I like the folding stock concept, but I don't like a stock to flex in my hands..and I'm not a hulk by any means. Just a little advice that you can take or not...the Tapco does look cool though, I guess that's why I bought it like that originally..Good Luck, and welcome to the addiction!!

PS The folder in your last pic is not from Tapco..it looks like an ACE stock, and it costs about four times as much as the Tapco..Cheers

I know that's an ACE, and I about crapped my heart out when I saw the price!

anyway... I might risk a Tapco... not sure yet... I love the galil like folder... but, I'm gonna hang onto my full stock just in case.

for a flash hider, dont put an AR15 flash hider on there, it just looks dumb on an AK instead, go with this one

I posted this pic & info quite some time ago.  Here is my Arsenal SLR105A1 with a real Galil stock.



I picked up the stock at the SHOT Show.  They are made in Israel and will work with a standard stamped receiver trunnion without any modifications.  So far as I know, there isn't a US importer yet, but I was contacted for information on the mfg by FAC, so you could check with them.  Obviously, this would be the most authentic.

The next best choice would be the ACE stock that requires removal of the tang from the rear trunnion.



ACE also makes the Galil pistol grip you are looking for, though I don't see it on their website.  I emailed them because I want one too and just haven't gotten around to ordering one.

I think I'm gonna cheap out with a tapco, till I run across a real galil stock. But, when I do, I'll scoop it up.

EDIT: Oh, and Redhorseman, thanks for the info on the FH... that one does look much better, I was worried about how short the AR hider would be.
