How about this Lacquer-stik I saw a post a few months ago talking about it but it may not be what your looking for.

Absolutely THE way to do it! I have done almost all my builds using those. Rub it in hard and wipe it off easy, touch up with a q-tip with some lighter fluid (naptha) and let it dry. May need a touch up occasionally.

I've used the sticks and Testors, both work fine for me.

Or toothpick and Testors model paint, clean excess with rag (pushing hard with finger)with a litte nail polish remover.
