I just got a nice set of laminated upper and lower handguards, and want to know if anyone here is able/willing to stain them in Russian red for me. I'll strip them if someone can stain them for me. Hell, I'll even do the varnish! Any help is appreciated.

I just got a set of the same today.. Matt at Ironwooddesigns.com has a great "how to" section on his site including a recipe for the stain.

Thanks! I'm sure I could do it if I have an accurate formula for the stain.

Red like this  Ironwood 3 piece Laminate set.  .. (Z_recto from gunsnet) aka  [email protected] finished these.  Fantastic job - great finish.  I couldn't be happier.

You do not want to use stain.  The original finish is colored shellac over the laminate or wood.
