Whats the difference between the SAM 7 & SLR-101s? Is it just the SLR starts out as low cap until the magwell enlarged? Sorry if this is a dumb ?, new to the AK. Thanks. -Justin

The SLR-101 has a Bulgarian receiver that starts out as a single stack only model. Once they get them into Nevada, the guys at Arsenal Inc. replace enough Bulgarian parts with the K-Var made parts to be legal with a pistol grip, and they open up the mag well and do some other stuff to allow it to accept military AK magazines. The SA-M7 series has a receiver that is forged here in the USA and then assembled with brand new Bulgarian parts with enough US parts to be legal with pistol grip. The fit and finish of the SA-M7 is far superior to the SLR-101, and in my experience, some SLR-101's have some issues taking all the military AK magazines. The SLR-101 is by and large a fine rifle, but the SA-M7 series is a much nicer one. Other than the issues that some of them have in taking all the military magazines as well as they should, the SLR-101 does not have the capability to mount a cleaning rod under the barrel. |

those are really nice looking. thanks for the pic ark-and-spark. and would anyone know if those would be ligal in CT. becuase i know a true AK-47 isnt legal. but what about one of those? thanks again guys |

No, he doesn't....you only learn by asking questions. Having said that, the little beat up smilie probably means he was just giving you a friendly hard time.......  If you don't ask questions, you don't learn and you can easily loose some serious money or make a serious mistake. You did neither with your new purchase. Pull up a chair and hang around for a while.

My wife bought me a SA M7 for Christmas (see paid I did the paperwork). I finally got to shoot it today. It's beautiful.....I love it. This is comong from a hardcore AR guy.

They're really handy, especially compared to the 20" HBAR AR's. As to the ammo, I wouldn't get too hung up on the case construction, brand, or bullet construction for a 7.62. The wolf poly stuff looks nice, but I find it to shoot the worst in my rifles. "Worst" meaning 3-5moa instead of 2-4moa. Function is never a concern. Oh yea.. Nice rifle!
