How does the AMD65 folding stock lock open? I just got a parts kit, and when in the open position it is very loose. Does it need to be mounted to the reciever?

When you get the parts kit you need to assemble the locking mechanism. It's not hard to do at all. Find the small rectangular metal piece that has a threaded hole in one end. Then you need a screw that has a nice large head, and a spring that fits over the screw.

Put the spring over the screw and insert it into the bottom of the stock on the left hand side. Insert the rectangular locking mechanism in the top and screw in the screw until it's where you want it.  The stock should now lock in botht the open and closed position.

This needs to be done before you put the rear trunion into the reciever so that you can cut yout the reciever for the release button.
