I think you misunderstand the situation, there are plenty of brand new AKs being sold everyday, with the evil features now that the ban is gone. Foreign guns can be brought in and have some parts swapped out for US made parts, and they become US rifles. What is taking the so long on the AK scence is that the Domestic makers are not set up to do mass production the way the foreign military contractors are, so they are making what they can, but are really no keeping up with demand enough to affect pricing, and it takes a while to get the foreign guns in, they have to get ATF paperwork approved before they can ship the guns/parts then they have to arrange for large boat to pick up the containers, then the boat has to get here, then the importeres have to swap/add US made parts. We have probably not yet seen the first noban rifels that have been brought in post ban yet, I think Century has realeased some noban rifles that they had brough in as postbans, as a hedge against the ban not going away, then added evil features to after the ban did die, but that is just the start.
