SSR-56-2 and the SSR-85C-2. Is the receiver exceptionally heavy? Is the receiver of good quality? and what is the availability of these two? BTW I really like the 45 degree Gas Block

W/o link, I assume these are from the Arsenal in TX. Look fine, can be very nice values, but a few keep slipping thru with QC flaws. Considering the joys of shipping between AK, I hesitate to say 'buy'.

IMO,
the best bet is to hunt around a find a used SSR-85b/c. If a new/unneutered rifle is what you are after, then I'd recommend the 85, and NOT the 56. I'd say the GT rec isn't heavy enough over a standard rec that you'd notice. As far as availability, there aren't alot of GT fans in these parts, so your best bet is to call GT directly. BTW- I agree, I really like the 45° gas block too, only I want one ona milled rec. |

The ssr 56 is a sweet gun. Although GT is not making them anymore. I have one. It has blonde wood , with blonde wood handle. I will sell for 500$ with 40rd waffle mag. Only shot 120rds. If your interested e-mail me.
