it's simple...

.30 cal rod, jag, patches and nylon brushes for the bore/chamber. let the chemicals do the hard work.

remove the action cover (rear push button) and spray guts with generic oil of choice. blow excess out with compressed air and wipe down.

fip lever on right side of rear sight base up to remove the gas tube. use a shotgun bore brush to clean once every year or so.

if shooting particularly cruddy ammo, you may feel the need to ream the gas tap port once a year. reamers are available from tapco iirc.

other than the bore, mine get cleaned once or twice a year...maybe detail stripped and cleaned once a year or every two seasons.

filth doesn't bother the kalashnikov. just keep it oiled up and corrossion free as you would any other firearm.
