I've done some minor 'smithing, but I'm not a professional. Anyway, I'll tell ya how I recrowned my AK. First, lock the AK down in a padded vise with the action disassembled and unloaded (obviously). Second, I found a 5/8" masonry drill bit and chucked it into a high speed drill (at least 30,000 rpm). The final step, jam it in and out of the muzzle on full speed for 2 minutes, or until it easily slides in and out of the bore with no friction or sparks anymore. Thats it11 But you know, I cant for the life of me figure out why my AK shoots about a 20 yard group at 50 yards!
Dont hate me, I'm just being a jerk. Anyway, I am interested in replies to this as well. I have heard of people doing this with hand tools, but cannot remember what they were, or whether this method would be recommended. What is wrong with your crown, if you dont mind my asking?
