..... a few months ago, I posted a rant here that the local government closed down my shooting range. I haven't had any place to shoot since. Well, apparently somebody pushed...somebody's buttons, and they have opened it back up until December 31.

Soooooo..... today, I blew off work, and took out a couple new toyz! Man....talk about nut'n! I thought I did after I fired off the first round! You know....you never really appreciate somthing until its gone! Remember that on November 2!

I gotta go....and bask in the afterglow!

The smell of cordite after the first round.........the waves of vapor comming off the barrel when the oil heats off, the feal of the bolt working in the action.........watching the tracer bounce and fly into the air as the Sheriff deputy drives by.................great fealings

What was really funny, as I was walking down the line to put down my truckload of guns/supplies, I could hear one of the "deer hunters" mubble something like.... "must be some of them assault weapons!" hehehehehe.... yup E.V.I.L. bees my middle name!

The story gets better.... this black guy shows up with a new Sako 280, topped off with a Swarovski  scope. The redneck deer hunters are looking at him with cut eyes, not making any room for him.  I said hey, "I'll scoot down, and you shoot to my left so that my shells don't bother you" He sets up, we start shooting the shit...he was super cool guy.  He had played college football at U of Fla,very well spoken, and loved to duck hunt! He moved to the area for a job with FedEx. He and I (both outcast with this crowd) shot the shit for a while. Then one of the rednecks comes around looking at his rifle.... "whot kinduh scope is that?...iz it like a Tasco, ain't nevur hurd of one of tham?" We looked at each other, and busted out laughing.....and he said yeah...its like a Tasco knock off.  Yup....these guys are out running around the woods with high powered rifles... I'd feel safe!
