Mark at Coyote Gulch Armoury sent me these pics along with my tracking #.
He built this for me from a parts kit I assembled myself.
I'm personally stunned at the beauty of it.
The only thing I can see changing as soon as possible is a more appropiate pistol grip.

Sweet!!  I like it, but I agree.... the grip has to go!

Not being a purist I think the grip looks good.  More importantly how does it feel compared to a standard grip, my understanding is it is very nice (assuming that is the Tapco SAW grip like I am assuming).

Now, please quit posting pics, because all it does is really make we want that RPK I've been dreaming of for 6+ months, and I have no money for any projects right now, especially not a costly RPK...

That's great looking. I , too like theSAW grip. I have one myself. How long did the build take?

I can't say I'm a complete purist myself, and I like the feel of that grip but I just dont think it looks right on the RPK. I didn't know that before I sent it off. I'm thinking either a bakelite grip or one of Z-Recto's laminated grips.
LOL, I know how you feel AR-15fan, I thought the same thing every time I saw an RPK pic. I can't wait to have this baby in hand. I have a couple 50 round 5.45 mags I really wanna try out .

What was the make of the front trunnion?   Since the barrel assemblies don't come with them.

I ended up using a new Rommy 23mm 5.45 trunnion and I picked up a used Rommy 5.45 bolt off the EE. That way my smith didn't have to turn down the barrel to fit a Bulgarian 22mm 5.45 trunnion.

This build has been a few months in the making but Mark actually did the work pretty fast considering how busy he is now that the ban is dead.

The SAW grip takes away from the authentic look and reduces the evil by about 5%!!

Looks fantastic, but like yourself I think the grip has to go.  Russian bakelite would look best but if you still need another US part  go with the Zrecto laminated grip (that is what I did).

What did you use for a receiver?

What finish did you get?  I'm going to send him a built in the next few weeks and think I'll have him finish it the same as yours.

Paint over park, Mark said he had a paint that matched Bulgarian finish pretty good so I went with that.

I used a OOW 5.45 reciever.

Why didn't you put a triangular sidefolder on it and make it authentic?

Taipan was going for this look:

The Bulgarian RPK's have the fixed stock or an underfolder model.

Yeah, what he said, lol. Bulgaria makes underfolder RPK's in 5.56 and 7.62 I just wanted to clone that look and have a 74 that was a bit different. I've never seen a RPK with a Krink style sidefolder, but it might be pretty cool looking. I was thinking that the underfolder would still work well firing prone like the clubfoot stock. My only regret is that by making it an underfolder I can't put a side scope mount on it.  B&T has their scope rail that fits on the rear site but I don't know of anyone that imports them. I call DSA and they were real weird about it, told me it would be like 3 or 4 months if they would even order it for me. Freaks. Ultimak is another idea, but as stupid as this sounds I hate to take off what little wood there is on it, lol. Any ideas? OH yeah no top cover rail suggestions.

Now, we need to find the Russian folding RPK Stocks...  I bet those would be expensive...

Too bad I couldn't find any real 5.45 45 round mags, but I did find two of those 45 or 50 round mags that someone in the US made out of two E German bakelites. I hope they work. I ordered up 1000 of Wolf 5.45 HP .

Didn't have a picture of the 5.45 LMG F.

Not sure that I like the blond wood on the 5.56. Maybe some Ironwood laminate?

I agree whole heartedly, we need for someone in the US to come up with a drum or a quadstack!!
Either way I'd buy but I like the idea of a fat ass 100 round quad stack.
