Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - shopping for ak

I am looking to buy an ak in "no ban" configuration. I have owned mak-90s and a lot of ARs, but i'm looking for something in a "dumping gun" and would like to hang at around $500 or less(before tax ect.). Can you reccomend anything other than an sar-1? I appreciate your help.

Thanks, the AK-V47 underfolder at Atlantic looks perfect. Can anybody reccomend the best mags/drums for it?

Not aware of any bad mags for these, $7 new steels from any nation are great. Chinese drums are easier to load (back opens, drop in), rattle a bit more, cost more. The Romys are cheaper but need each round stuffed from the top.
