I have been debating on whether or not to purchase a romanian pistol grip from k-var, its the red one, but I don't know what it will look like on my SAR-1.  If anyone has pictures please post them.   Thanks.

This is a SAR-2, but this should give you an idea.

Does it match, its hard to tell from the side view, I just want to know if that grip is the one the romanians use in the military or do they have a wooden one?

They use a reddish bakelite grip.

That's not my SAR-2.  The used to have them at K-var but now they are sold out.
They will fit on a SAR-1.

You can get the grip from KVAR:

I bought mine at a gunshow for $6.00

I think it looks good with the way the wood turned out.

I know this is a SAR-2 reply, but I just placed the SAR-1 in it's foster home after giving it the Akron Armory "Romy" treatment".

SAR-1 goodies usually include a forward angled laminated wood pistol grip handguard with a "lammy" top cover, a "red" bakelite pistol grip, and a full laminated wood buttstock.

Here are the two  AIMS-74es (SAR-2) that are presently in stock....

The "pistol-less" front frip on the second AIMS-74, is for the less "adventurous".  he
