Might be able to get one in a trade.  Don't know a damn thing about them outside of the info on the Arsenal website.   Quality?  Mags?

Thanks for the quick reply.  How does it stack up against others in terms of quality?

Quality is excellent. I have two myself - both are great shooters. If you're into milled AK's, by all means, go for it.

Briefly, what is a functional difference between milled and stamped?  Can only stamped take a folding stock?

Can only stamped take a folding stock? Both can accept a underfolding stock

Thanks.  What would be the fair value of a NIB SLR101?  I'd love to pick up an AK and this looks like an easy way to do it.  Just want to make sure I don't get taken in a trade!!

AFAIK, & I don't profess to know much, the difference is that the SLR95 comes into the US as a hi-cap receiver with the T-hole stock.  Loosely compare it to a Mak-90 w/ a T-hole stock.... In other words, it ain't an aesthetically correct AK, it's an imported sporter of some sort.

The SLR101S comes into the country as a low cap version and for all I know has the bottom tang intalled for a correct shoulder stock.  Arsenal INC in Vegas then cuts the magwell for standard capacity mags and adds US components to meet 922(r) reqs.  So the SLR-101S will be functionally/militarily correct (minus the fun switch) and domestically legal whiles still being aesthetically pleasing.  This can be loosely compared to what the SAR series of Romanian rifles go though @ CAI...

This is just what I've collected from the net via Osmosis. I won't vouch for the accuracy as there are some gurus here that can either confirm or correct my limited understanding.

The difference between stamped and milled is about 1 1/2 lbs.
