Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - AK Question: K-VAR stocks

I would like to get a recoil pad installed on my K-VAR stock to make it longer and to absorb recoil. Can a gunsmith install a recoil pad on a plastic stock?  If so, who would you recommend that could do this work? Thanks for any assistance.

$10 sks/ak 1" rubber pad at Tapco, pull 2 buttend screws, put pad over, reinstall screws. Worked well on my SAR1 for 4 years.

The Bulgie "garnade launcher" butt pad is what I use, also from K-VAR. It gives me about 1" on those short Bulgie stocks.
