i didn't spend anywhere NEAR that on mine. i got it out the door for right around $680. i will try to get a range report after i get back from cali. gotta go do some training for the corps.

i always like to post the pics first and then the range report. don't want to give everything out at one time!

oh, and i don't think i will ever deal with dark sun. everytime i go by their table, they are always the biggest dickheads.

They were norincos so they were still banned by the 89 ban.  Darksun are a bunch of assholes but he has the right prices.  I almost told him to shove it when he gave me shit about the way I filled out my 4473.  He tells me what he wants and then says something like "The directions are right here at the top".  Fucker.   I should have snatched that boonie off his head and christened my gerber fighter...

er.. I didnt say that.

Not to be a jerk or anything, but isn't that the same Vector AK that Atlantic is selling for $499 ($459 to arfcom members)?

I bought mine for $499 before the user discount.

There is something to be said for paying more, but having the Peace Of Mind one gets when he is holding and examining the rifle before purchase.

I had no choice but to buy my new Colt 6920 from the internet, sight unseen. The hand guard wiggles excessivly, and bothers me to the degree that I will be sending the whole rifle upper back to Colt. The rifle also arrived in a box that looked beat to crap, and not preferrable for collectors purposes.   The savings is almost a washout for the minor hassles I will now experience.

i know that it's more than what it would be from atlantic arms, but i was able to physically look at it and see that it was a good rifle and that it was exactly what i wanted. it was also a little bit more because the guy charged 4% for credit card purchases. oh well. i don't regret it at all.

well, i got to take her out yesterday guys! accuracy was exceptionally good and function was typical of pretty much all AK's...flawless. if you get one, don't put your cheek too tight on the folding stock. it'll jar your brains around a little bit!
