Most AKM parts are inerchangable,the Chi Com AKs are a little different from Euro AKs.Bbl diameters are different but the Chi Com stamped receiver models are more in spec with type III receiver Euro AKs.It gets a little complicated,so if you can be specific on what you intend to change out we can help you find the correct answers.

What JOHNO said....Knowing specifics of what you want/need to change out would help.
And yes, the mags are the same for all 7.62 AK variants.. |

The mags were my main concern. I've heard/read that they are really cheap in the middle wast/ gulf region SO i figured I could pick up some over there and bring them back with me.

The mags work in all of them,of the same caliber.Mags are cheap here too,I bought a bunch of new East German 30 round mags for 6.00 each a couple months ago.Thats something to consider before you start carrying them around the World in your carry on.
