How do they compare to romanian drums in quality, ease of use, etc?

Rattle like a sack of marbles. But load easy by opening the back cover, drop a round into each part of the snowflake that moves the rounds around the scroll, close cover and tighten the spring. Romy/Russian require 90 stuffs down the top, but minimal rattle.

On a positive note, you can keep them loaded without putting stress on the spring unlike the romy ones. When your ready to go you just wind em up like a clock. |

My friends have the Chinese and I had the Romanian and I liked the Chinese MUCH better. The Romanian is a BITCH to load right from the first round. Be prepared to have a thumb of iron to get 75 rounds into it, and the fact that you can't keep it loaded like the Chinese makes it even worse. I returned mine to Tapco in exchange for the 40 rounders. Was a much better deal at the time.
