FFP, free floating firing pins is what most AK's have although I've heard that some other variants have had them. HeavyMetal hit the nail on the head as far as to why Arsenal changed firing pins. Most .223 AK's will have a spring loaded firing pin. For the most part these guns are built for the US market. The makers know people will shoot .223 commercial ammo, and the chance of a slam fire with a thin primer is the reason for the spring. The guns chambered for the 5.45 and 7.62 are more likley to have surplus military ammo fired through them as they should.
