You can't just mail that receiver to anyone unless they are licensed manufacturer I believe unless going through an FFL to FFL.

I believe he meant front and rear trunnion, which can be shipped without any restrictions |

a drill press and set of drill bits is less than $50 at your local harbor freight store.
a tap and tap wrench costs about $5 each. a tap and die set will run you $20-50. these are tools you will use for the rest of your life. |

Campy speaketh the truth, those are tools that you will find usefull to not only own but know how to operate for the rest of our life. Even if you can afford to not have to do something, it is awful reassuring to know that when the chips are down you can. |

I did mean trunions thanks for pointing that out. Also I know the tools are worth the investment but being a poor college student in a cramped apartment doesnt really give me much to work with. Also I already have the tools at my shop back home but I wont be back there till Christmas and cant get myself to invest in something I already have.

Does your school have some kind of work shop that you are able to use maybe? This work can be done with no more than a cordless drill and hand files, but I am certainly not that brave.

As far as I know the only shops they have are for maintenance, and engineering students and probably wouldnt like the idea of a random guy using the to build a ak. You also have to remember that alot of college staff are liberal gun grabbers that would probably flip out.
