That's a little over a grand for the folding stock version. $900 for the fixed

I believe that these rifles would not conform with the sporting purpose clause for importation.

yes, anything that was a machinegun has been banned from import since 1986 unless it is destined to be used by law enforcement or legitinate government agencies.
they could be cut up and imported, but the lack of a dedicated receiver makes re-assembly of the mpi69 an unlikely proposition. |

From pictures I've seen of demilled and complete MPi-69's. I think if you could get a complete parts kit, and a stamped AK receiver without the rails and any holes drilled in it, you'd probably be in business.
 There are no receiver rails as the bolt rides on the lip of the receiver. The holes for the axis pins are higher up, and the front trunion is different. However the trigger guard & rear trunion look like "standard" items. If my memory is correct, "Stottman" once posted some pics of a kit he was planning on building a clone from. |
